Minimum Order
AnsweredIs anyone using the minimum order feature?
We tried it a couple of times, but we randomly had customers phone up saying they couldn't check out because they hadn't met the minimum order EVEN when the goods in their basket were over the minimum.
I could never replicate this even using the same products that the customer had in their cart so it's very hard to log a ticket about it. We only found out there were problems when a customer phoned up to say they couldn't check out.
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced any weird problems with this feature?

Hi,
an update on this as we think we may have it working.
When we first implemented this we did it from the Setup/Checkout Settings screen which caused random errors as detailed above.
However, when we have recently tried using the B2B/Customer Group Minimum Order and it all seems to work. We have 3 different customer groups and have applied the minimum amount to each group and fingers crossed it all seems to work.

Hi Josie,
The Minimum Order Amount is by default calculated based on the Subtotal without Tax.
Let's say you have a VAT of 20%, your Minimum Order Amount is set to $100, then it will only apply in Checkout if the Subtotal reaches $120, as $100 is the amount without tax.
Could you please try to replicate it in your store to see if that's the issue you're experiencing with your customers?
If that's the case, you could easily open a new feature request to have an option to 'Include Tax to the Amount' so that it requires the Subtotal to meet the Minimum Order Amount with tax included.Hope it helps.
Kind regards,

Hi Sandra,
we have spent hours on this trying to replicate it. Trying with different browsers, different devices, different customer groups and just cannot replicate the error that users sometimes see. It happens with users who are way over the minimum but they just can't check out. It happens with new users, and users that we brought over from our old Magento system. But as it doesn't happen to us when we test we can't really get any further forward.
We'll just have to leave it off rather than risk losing orders.
thanks for your feedback
Josie
