adding photos to variations

I have been trying to add photos to similar items, all configurable, in a section of my store, the trouble is the photos are not staying where I put them, they are changing all the photos in the category to the last photo uploaded. How can I add different photos to each listing without every listing changing please?

Yes of course, I have just added the photos to the 2 tone yellow roses and the whole category apaprt from two listings has taken on the variation photos!
The screenshot is of the fuchsia roses but as you can see when you click on and variation amount the 2-tone yellow photo appears

I have just checked another variable category, the babies breath, the same has happened there too, they are also showing the yellow roses

Just had a look and everything looks fine in your store. Did you changed something again?

I have just had a fiddle with the indexing and changed the setting on it but it is still doing the same saving to the last variation photo uploaded

See what you mean know - Do you have only 3 variations for all the configurable products? If so, the images from the variations will show up in every products where the variations are.
Do you need to have a different image for each variation?

Each listing has the same three variations, the number of bunches a person can choose, but they are all in the shop category as a separate listing as they are all different colours, as below.
What I need to do is have just the one main photo, which is different for every listing, for each of the variations as you see in the main category page. What happens though when you go into the listing and choose a variation is that a blank picture comes up or the same one one every listing if I add a photo to the variation on any listing.
I need to have this co-ordinate with the main photo or get rid of the blank photo, really only one photo is needed on the page.

Do you have Swatches enabled in Products > Settings > Swatches?

Yes, it is enabled. Have just disabled it and it has solved the problem:)
