Auto Related / Upsell Products

I am wondering if there is any option for this feature (Related Products, Upsell Products, You May Also Like) to be automated based on sales rather than manually implemented. I'd like the store to suggest items based on data (what's popular, frequently bought together, etc). Is this possible?

  Agree! And/or the ability to create "Related Products" type rules.
