Sub Total via HTML to show above a image of a basket on the homepage

When a customer adds a item to their basket on the example site the sub total appears in the top right corner to show how much the items come to in their basket. This is what we want to try and do rather than it show the customer the number of items in the basket we would like ti to show the amount the basket comes to (sub total) automatically without having to click on your basket to see this
