Tier Pricing for Configurable Products

Many of the products in our catalog have a UOM based on length (wire) instead of per unit, and we need to be able to set up price breaks at certain lengths, e.g. 100', 500', etc.
The Tier Pricing by all rights should be the perfect solution for this, but I was told by Zoey support that it currently doesn't work for Configurable Products (I haven't been able to get it to work properly for the Simple products associated to the main Configurable one either).
Zoey support suggested trying to use Discount Rules as a work-around, but this would be unwieldy for the number of products and variations we need. Please make Tier Pricing work for Configurable Products.

Tier pricing on configurable products can work, IF the tiers are added to the configurable product. This also assumes that the associated simple products are the same base price and have the same discounts. Simple products that are associated to Configurable ones can also have tiered pricing, but the information will stay on the product, tiers on one level will not affect those on another.
