Many of the products we sell have price based around length in feet or thousands of feet (wire and cable) that the customer wants to purchase, versus per-unit/each; we also have some items that are sold as per-item/each as well.
For example, one type of industrial cable may have its price set at $0.15 per foot (FT), but we need to be able to actually sell at a price based on per thousand feet (MFT) which is more common in our industry as far as how it is bought and sold; and ultimately be able to set up price breaks based around that as well (Zoey's Tier Pricing would be perfect for this, but Zoey support says this is not available with Configurable products, which we need to use since we're also setting up options like colors).
We really would like to be able to assign these different UOMs per product in our store, which would also display next to the product's QTY input field as well as next to the displayed price on the product page. e.g. "$0.15 / FT", "$110.55 / MFT", etc.
I understand that we can create a custom attribute could display it elsewhere on the product page, but it wouldn't be displayed as part of the price itself in this way.
In a best case scenario, we would be able to create our own lists of UOMs like with how we create custom attributes with drop-down lists, but with the ability for setting up how these options would impact the Product's base price in the order calculations, e.g. MFT would be (price * 1000), etc.
