Editing order, if amount is decreasing, use previous authorization
AnsweredWhen editing an order, if the amount of the order is decreasing or staying the same (not increasing) is there really a need to enter credit card information again? There is already an authorization for a specific dollar amount. If it's not being exceeded, it would be good to not have to contact the client and ask for cc info over the phone.

Hello - Orders are definitive agreements between a buyer/seller - if you are looking to make changes to the order amount prior to finalization we recommend using Quotes and then converting a Quote to an Order. Alternatively, we recommend using X-Payments (https://www.zoey.com/apps/x-payments/) to store the customer's payment profile and be able to use a saved credit card.

I agree with this - if you have say 1000 authorized, and you need to change the order to 500.00 you should not need to void and recharge the entire transaction. Most payment providers have the functionality via tokenization to just use an existing authorize amount. Technically you can go to the provider itself, say PayPal payments pro and adjust it there but its an extra step.
