Domain Settings if you do not Purchase an SSL Certificate

If you do not wish to purchase and use your own SSL Certificate, you can use the pixafyhosting.com shared SSL certificate for your store's checkout and secured areas such as the customer's account pages. 

Our team highly recommends purchasing your own SSL for several reasons:

• Customer Confidence - Your customers will always see your domain name if you have your own SSL. Although their information is still secure, it may be a little jarring to see a different URL when they head to checkout. 
• Simplicity for you and your team - Setting up third party apps? Have additional users logging in? An SSL will mean your http (unsecure) and https (secure) sites are the same domain and you won't need to guess which you need for an integration. 
• Email Reliability - When you send emails, they are coming from the secure part of your store. If your store's email address does not match the secure URL, many mail servers are wary that this was sent as spam. Having an email address with your domain name and an SSL so you can use this domain name as your secure store will resolve this and similar issues. 

To use the shared SSL, simply leave your Secure Store Address as it was in your Domain Settings. You can always opt to use your own SSL at a later date. 

In order for this to work properly, you must also Enable Session Validation Settings. Failing to do so may cause issues with your customers losing their cart information from being in your store to going to checkout. 

To enable this, go to Set-up > Site Configuration and check that Use SID on Frontend is set to Yes as shown below.
