The first thing most Zoey users will do when they start a trial is migrate their current store through one of our One Click Migration Tools. Once this is complete, there's plenty of other things to be done such as settings and design, and by the time they are ready to switch from using their old store to the new Zoey store, there may be new information in the old store that was still running. To bring this over, you may want to run a second migration.
What are the benefits of running a second migration?
- This is the only way to bring over new orders that were placed on your old store
Although you can download and save your order information for your own records, if you want this in your Zoey store you will need to bring it over with one of our One Click Migration Tools. - Quickest way to update your inventory, add products, and new customers
Rather than using CSVs or updating every item individually, running the migration will update the information in your control panel to match what was in your old store. Any new information will be added such as if an order was in "processing" for the first migration and is now complete, the Zoey order will be marked as complete.
Will I lose any information migrating a second time?
- Migrations do not affect your Design, Settings, or URL selections
Just as this information did not make a change the first time, it will not make a change now! - Products created in Zoey will not be deleted unless you specifically select this option to remove your current catalog from the migration app
- You will lose any changes made to the products you are migrating if they were only updated in Zoey.
It's important to remember if you changed information for one of these older products, this information will be overwritten after the migration. Here's an example:
Sku 123 was called "My Old Shoe" in my old store. I renamed it "My New Shoe" in Zoey and did not make this change in my old store, running the migration will revert my change made in Zoey and Sku 123 will be renamed "My Old Shoe"
I changed "My Old Shoe"'s Sku from 123 to 123-New in Zoey and not in my old store. Since products are identified by their Sku, running the migration will not make changes to 123-New, but it will create 123.
